About Me

my lovely posterior

Who Am I?

The name bestowed to me is Nur Muhammad Bin Sirat. Friends call me “Muhammad”, or “Mat” for short. Wierd folks call me “Nur”.

I am not a mat, but I am THE mat, and I like to refer to myself as Mart.

I am a graduate from Nanyang Technological University, class of 2007, with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) honours degree (2nd lower). I am currently employed at Borland’s Enterprise Quality Center as a QA engineer. And I have learnt a lot there.

I am engaged to a very beautiful lady, who is exactly like me, but different in every way.

Where Do I Reside?

I am born and bred in sunny rainy summer-year-round Singapore, a tiny island with big ambitions.

What Are My Beliefs?

First and foremost, I am a Muslim. I believe in the one God and his messenger. My belief in God is not only because of my obligation as a Muslim, but also because of the wonders of science and the physical realm, from the smallest quark to the largest red giant star.

I also believe in karma. What goes around comes around, or as Earl puts it “Do good things, and good things happen to you”. If not in this world, then in the next.

What Interests Me?

I am a gaming nut, and a big sucker for good open-ended RPGs. I prefer gameplay over graphics any day. A pretty game will enthrall me for roughly 15 minutes of “woooow….” and that’s about it. However, I’m still playing golden oldies, like XCOM:UFO Defense and Tyrian, to this day.

With PC gaming comes the natural obsession for PC hardware. I like to customize my PC internals, which is probably why I am not a Mac fan. “It just works” don’t appeal to me, as making it work is half the fun.

I love physics. I think all other branches of science, like chemistry or biology, are derivatives of the physical world. I like to think of science as man’s way to understand God’s creation, for how else would the Creator reveal himself, but through his creations.

I am a huge fan of mathematics. My love for maths start at an early age, where back then math is just comprised of the four basic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. Now, math is one subject that routinely complicates, yet amazes me.

Other Worthy Tidbits?

Spandex is a blight to male-kind. One size certainly does not fit all. God’s greatest gift to Singapore-kind is chicken rice.

Loved by few. Known to most. Understood by one. Loving her always.
