Danny MacAskill: Taking Bike Trials To The Next Level

Friday, April 24th, 2009

His last name says it all.

This has got to be the best trials video I’ve seen thus far. I feel he is as smooth as Ryan Leech but much more gnarlier. His technique is as perfect as it could be.

This vid is also making its rounds on twitter.

1:05 – Riding a fence!
1:23 – That’s the highest so far I’ve seen a trials rider doing that!
2:03 – Tailwhip ON THE GROUND!
3:06 – I’ve seen backflips on a 26″, but this is the first time I’ve seen someone do a freaking FLAIR! And off a TREE!
3:14 – How the hell do you balance off a freaking wall!?
4:11 – Riders jump down stairs all the time, but on a downhill bike, with proper suspension systems, not a trials bike!
4:28 – Another tailwhip! With a perfect landing! :P
4:44 & 4:52 – People have broken legs dropping off those.

You know, I’m inclined to think that this is just a CGI character, and ILM is just showing off its latest new tech to create the ultimate reality.

I’m just proud to tell the world that I can do a one-handed trackstand. :)

Commentator On Dennis Bergkamp’s Goal

I just had to put this up.

The goal was brilliant, a classic Bergkamp goal.

But definitely not THAT brilliant (no offense) until one can go nuts from it. :P

Imagine All 10 Dimensions Of Reality

If reality has that many dimensions in the first place…

A very simplistic (but still cool!) overview on String Theory, a proposal to unify General Relativity with Quantum Mechanics.

I always find physics and mathematics fascinating because it touches on our physical realm. Of course, topics like this is fun and cool to read about, but way, way too much to actually properly study in a university. This is a very huge personal flaw of mine. I like to learn on the concepts and overview of every single subject, but to delve into a particular topic in detail? I’ll get bored and become disinterested fast. Probably a self-motivation thing.

Anyway, this seems like a nice book for a casual read. It’ll probably go into my list of books to get, along with Prof. Hawking’s A Brief History Of Time.

Mac vs PC: The Battle To End All Battles

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Will we be prepared for the ultimate Mac-vs-PC battle? :D

Great animation! The 3D robot animation is simply superb quality. However, the transformation audio, most probably ripped from the cartoon version no doubt, could probably have been better. Makes it sound too kiddish. Also, having some laptop parts be visible on the transformed humanoid robot would definitely bring up the cool factor a lot.

Anyway, just sit back and enjoy!

Superb Video Of A Wiimote Busting An LCD TV

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

I have heard of stories of people swinging the Wii so hard that it flies into the TV. However, I have been fairly skeptical of it. I have a Wii but I have yet to find the Wiimote that slippery.

But finally, some video evidence! And the slow motion replay at the end is perfect to see how an LCD TV stops working from the point of impact. Enjoy!
