Chapter 2: Blazing Through The Temple
HAH! The Temple Of Trials is nothing more than a fancy name for the classic “kill all rats” quest. Except in this case, it’s not rats, but Giant Ants and Scorpions.
Hmm. Now I feel like a damn pest buster.
1st Room:
There’s only giant ants to contend with here. After killing off a few, I found a bag of healing powder in a funny looking jar. I guess that’s my reward. Giant Ants don’t drop a thing.
2nd Room:
The scorpions here were a little dangerous because of their poisoned tips, but again, they never stood a chance. My reward: a spear! It was nice, except for 2 things:
- My unarmed combat seems much better.
- I already have a spear when I started.
The one who designed this trial needs to get fired. Lucky me, those scorpion tails can be looted.
3rd Room:
A quasi-easy room; quasi, because if you run all the way to the end without using your head, you’ll need an awful amount of luck. I accidentally triggered a trap which luckily missed. I didn’t want to tempt fate any longer, so walking carefully allowed me to notice all the “raised plates” around. More bugs to be killed net me a few scorpion tails. Chests here gave another healing powder, which was cool. And an explosive! I thought I could keep that, until at the end was a door, aptly named “Impenetrable Door”. So much for saving the explosive.
4th Room:
Scorpions guard chest. I kill scorpions. I loot tails. I loot chest. Get healing powder and antidode. (Does someone sure expected me to get hurt a lot?)
Another Wierd Dude stood behind the door I just passed. He said that he was given the honor to be my final challenge. Great! Wierd Dude Part Deux! Luckily my intelligence and speech skill was abnormally high, so I managed to talk him out of it.
That was easier than expected. I guess Wierd Dude 2 actually didn’t want to be there. What the heck, at least it saved me a healing powder or two.
And that was the end of my trial. Like I said, I blazed through it like a brahmin on steroids! Finally I get to wear some dead guy’s vault suit. I think it was from the founder of the village. Wait, didn’t he found this village because he was cast out of his own vault after saving them? I’m having a little déjà vu right about now.
